SNB Production WorkflowGuideWhere the Count Stands
Where the Count Stands
What is done, what is in the way, and the count sheet you can print. The one thing it does not have is an Apply button.
The Summary tab answers one question: is this count finished enough to be worth applying?
It is read on the floor, at the end of a session, before anybody walks back to a desk.
1The tiles at the top
Four figures, and each is a different kind of problem:
| Tile | What it counts |
|---|---|
| 16/49 counted | shelves somebody has entered a number for |
| 0 added here | items found on the shelf and added during this count |
| 2 needs info | shelves carrying a note |
| 15 will change | shelves whose count differs from what the books say |
will change is the one to read before walking back. It is the size of the adjustment this count would raise — fifteen shelves moving, not forty-nine.
2No Apply button
Under the tiles:
Nothing here has touched stock. When the counting is done, somebody reviews and applies it from Inventory → Stock Counts.
There is no way to apply a count from a phone, and that is deliberate rather than unfinished.
Applying is a ledger decision. The full review at a desk carries warnings this screen has no room for — shelves that moved after they were counted, counts that differ from the books by a factor that suggests a unit mix-up — and somebody standing in an aisle at the end of a shift is not the person to weigh them.
Once it has been applied, this same panel says so instead: Applied Tue 8 Sep 2026, 19:49 as ADJ-2026-0014, naming the adjustment it became.
3Print a count sheet
Three buttons, and they are three different jobs rather than three formats:
- Counted (16) — what was found. The record.
- Not counted (33) — a worksheet with an empty box against each line, for the corner of the store where a phone will not go
- All items (49) — both, which is what an auditor asks for
Each opens a PDF in a new tab, so the count screen survives — print a sheet and carry on counting on the same phone.
The screen says it plainly: “Nothing is exported anywhere — applying the count is what moves stock.”
The sheet is paper. It is not a submission and it does not tell the system anything.
4By category
A small table: Category, Shelves, Left. A category with nothing left shows ✓ instead of a zero, so a glance tells you which bays are finished.
5The lists of what is in the way
Four lists, each shown only when it has something in it, and each capped at forty with …and N more:
| List | What it is |
|---|---|
| Not counted yet | “These will not change anything when the count is applied.” |
| Needs info | “Somebody left a note on these.” — the note is printed under each |
| Added during this count | “Found on the shelf and not previously in the system.” |
| Counted, no photo | “Fine if you did not need one.” |
Every entry is a link straight to that shelf.
Not counted yet is the list that costs money if it is ignored.
An uncounted shelf is not counted as zero — it is left exactly as the books have it. So a bay nobody reached keeps last quarter’s figure, and the count reports a warehouse that has been verified when a third of it has not.
That is why the list is here rather than only in the review at the desk: the person who can still walk over and count them is the one holding the phone.
6When there is a drift warning
Sometimes a warning appears above the tables:
3 shelf/shelves moved after they were counted.
The screen explains it in the same breath — each count is measured against the books as they stood at the time it was taken, so the arithmetic is right. What it is asking is whether the paperwork was filed after the material physically moved, which is a different question and a human one.
7When it is finished
With every shelf looked at, a last card appears:
✅ Every shelf on this count has been looked at.
What happens next
Somebody closes the count and applies it from Inventory → Stock Counts at a desk. Applying raises an adjustment — that is the document that actually moves the stock, and it is why the count’s own page names one once it is applied.
If it goes wrong
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| will change is far larger than you expected | Read Not counted yet first. Then check a few of the big differences before anybody applies it — a mix-up between boxes and pieces looks exactly like this. |
| A PDF button opens a blank tab | The phone blocked the pop-up. Allow it for this site, or use the link from a desk. |
| Needs info is empty but you left notes | A note saved without pressing Save on the shelf page never left the phone. Reopen the shelf and check. |
| No added here, and you added something | The add sheet refused it as a duplicate and offered the existing shelf instead. That is not a new item, so it is not counted as one. |
| The count says Under review | Somebody has closed it. It is still readable and no longer writable; the numbers are being checked at a desk. |
